In regards to checking the oil I use an old bicycle mirror that still has the handle on it.
I sit on the bike and level it then I use the mirror to view my oil level. I check it every day this way its simple and easy.
B.T.W by dealer did the 600mile service and over filled it with oil so I to had to remove some.
